This dynamic project involved the digital transformation through all phases: from design & engineering to construction, then via testing & commissioning and now operations, of 3.5 million m2
It is the world’s largest BIM project, from design to operations, including 4D, 5D & 6D dimensions.
The digital QA/QC, Testing & Commissioning included every system, for all assets and disciplines throughout the airport development and handover through to asset management.
The next key stages include handover to Operations and Facilities Maintenance, also using digital tools.
Due to open on 29 October 2018, IGA is designed to be a transformational asset for Turkey, in many aspects. It is certainly a fine example of the concept of Digital Living Spaces in action...
One of Abu Dhabi's latest major property developments is Saadiyat Island. This multi-billion dollar development will be home to a series of iconic new constructions, including the Zayed National Museum, the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
Saadiyat island will also include The District, a prime retail destination designed from the outset to be at the very centre of this innovative, world-leading cultural centre.
The District was planned and developed using the latest digitisation techniques, deployed at every stage of the project.
Faced with challenging seasonal environmental issues, it offers indoor-outdoor venues for shopping and dining, with over 168,000 sq. m of leasable space, via 550 units. Clash-detection, on-site snagging rectification and dynamic programme mapping were three key processes that have helped drive this development.
The new US$ 4.5bn expansion of Kuwait International Airport was labelled from the outset as a fast-track project: Our role involved design and programme management, with digitisation across the tender phase for design & engineering, also for cost control and value management.
In 2014, a full lifecycle strategy was developed for digital fabrication, followed by construction and operations, designed to increase capacity by 13 million passengers per annum (MPPA). Subsequent phases will take this to 25, then 40 MPPA by 2037.
A global team of architects and designers were able to collaborate on this project thanks to use of the latest in digital innovation, BIM software and Living Spaces concepts.
The newest terminal, T4, opened in July 2017 and other phases will significantly enhance capacity by 2021.
